STOP CENSORSHIP!!

I don't even know if people read my blog but any how, I'm going to post this anyway!! (From the access now site! Please sign this petition to stop the government from taking our rights!!)

If you thought SOPA and PIPA were bad, let us introduce you to their Big Brother, ACTA.

The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is an international treaty that threatens free speech and your privacy online. Imagine if your ISP could censor their networks, police what you did online, and with greater ease turn your information over to authorities. That's the danger that ACTA poses, and it's got to be stopped.

Access in October raised the red flag on ACTA, but the downfall of SOPA and PIPA has helped turn ACTA from a forgotten international treaty to the center of the fight for a free and open internet. Though several countries have already signed this treaty, the European Parliament still has to vote on its approval. If they vote NO, it will totally dismantle ACTA and send it back to the drawing board. Sign the petition below, calling on the European Parliament to vote NO on this dangerous treaty.

A Sucker Punch to the gut...

"You're afraid. Don't be. You have all the weapons you need. Now fight."
Madam Gorski to Babydoll

As you might be able to tell, I'm reviewing Sucker Punch. I saw it a few days ago. Despite the rave it created when it was advertised, it didn't get good reviews. It's probably like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it. But I have to say I'm on the fence about it.
While the effects were amazing and I loved the effects, it might have been better as a game. The movie was confusing during the levels of dissiocation when you couldn't tell what was going on.
Some of reviews talk about racism. I don't see it. What the reviws called "brown", meaning not white (which is probably a form of racism itself!), are the bad guys and all of the white guys aren't I have to say: they auditioned for that role so they must have wanted it and would have known what was going to happen. Plus if the people who played them were white not "brown", nobody will have been complaining about racism! Just because they're not white and something bad happens to them, they call it racist. Seriously people! You need to get a grip!
As for themes, I was able to find a few. Sexual abuse, dissiocation and guardian angels.
Now for me, guardian angels is one of the largest themes because of the voice overs and it really does seem to be about that. Angels don't fight for you but challenge you to fight. A very good message, if I do say so.
Dissiocation... Kinda obvious so I'm not going to go into it.
Sexual abuse... Takes place in an asylum that becomes a brothel + their outfits. This film is set during either the 50s or 60s when we still had asylums. The staff of asylums were known to treat the patients horribly and sexually abuse them or even rape them (there are accounts!). This film protrays that. Hence the asylum becomes a brothel were sex is expected. All of their names are prostitute-type names (Babydoll, Blondie, Sweet Pea, etc). Their outfits in the fight scenes are sexual, possibly to attract a male audience or to remind the audience that the girls are being used sexually.
During the dissiocations, Babydoll is escaping the harsh reality of the asylum but she dissiocates during the dancing to a fight scene because, as in both reality and the first level of dissiocation, she is escaping from the sexuality of the situation. It is a taboo subject for most people I think.
I loved a lot of the songs, I will say, even though they are all covers of existing songs.I can see how it's the idea of Alice in Wonderland with machine guns.
It's up to you what you think about the film but I'm on the fence. I neither like nor dislike it. However, I will say it kinda seems like one of my gulity pleasure films despite everything.

Trailer:

"And finally. This question. The mystery of whose story it will be, of who draws the curtain. Who is it that chooses our steps in a dance? Who drives us mad, flashes us with whips, crowns us with victory when we survive the impossible? Who is it that tells all these things?
Who honors those we love with the very life we live? Who sends monsters to kill us, and at the same time sings that we'll never die? Who teaches us what's real, and how to laugh at lies? Who decides why we live, and what we'll die to defend? Who chains us, and who holds the key to set us free? It's you. You have all the weapons you need. Now fight!"

Sweet Pea

"It's like we talked about, you control this world. Let the pain go, let the hurt go, let the guilt go. What you are imagining right now, that world you control. That place can be as real as any pain."

Currently listening to Stand still, look pretty by The Watchers.

I don't really know what to put as this is my first blog... I probably won't be blogging everyday though.
One thing I would like to mention though is this: http://meloukhia.net/2010/08/psychiatrisation_a_great_way_to_silence_troublesome_women.html
As I have said before, this is my first blog so it will be short. I'm going to use my blog to review things and post interesting things up. Said interesting things will probably either be conspiracy theories, videos or things that relate to the bad things of society.
So this is probably going to be my soap box! And unfortunately, I'm not joking...
